We have asked Professor, and Author Leonard Sweet to come and give us a revolutionary look at evangelism; one which refuses to separate evangelism from discipleship.

Len is the E. Stanley Jones Chair of Evangelism, at Drew University, and also a Visiting Distinguished Professor at George Fox University in Portland, Oregon. Len is the author of hundreds of articles and numerous books, including The Gospel According to Starbucks, So Beautiful, AquaChurch 2.0, and SoulTsunami.

Len will seek to revolutionize our understanding of evangelism. He defines “evangelism” as “nudge,” and evangelists as “nudgers.” Evangelism is awakening each other to the God who is already there. Evangelism is nudging people to pay attention to the mission of God in their lives and the necessity of responding to that initiative in ways that birth new realities and realize new births.

It’s our job to do what we do best, which is nudge, and leave it to God to do what only God can do, which is natal transformations. The nudging act—the human contact, the meeting of eyes, the sharing of space, the entanglement of words, the sense of bodily interaction-—is to the soul what blood is to the body. Without nudging, the Christ body cannot reproduce.

Registration fee, includes lunch:

$35 per person: 1 or 2 from the same church

$30 per person: 3 or more persons from the same church.
