Basic Lay Speaking Course
The Basic Lay Speaking Class is an overview study and exploration into the many ways Christians may serve our Lord through Lay Speaking Ministries. It is the foundation course for Local and Certified District Lay Speaking Ministries.
Participants are invited to consider the importance of exercising servant leadership, developing future leaders, remaining rooted in consistent spiritual practices, and being part of a group that holds members accountable in discipleship. It offers guidelines for best practices as a church leader and outlines a number of ministries in which Lay speakers may assume roles. Some basic preaching skills will be offered for those interested.
This course may also be taken for advanced credit for those Genesee Valley Certified District Lay Speakers who took the old course and would like to find out what is new in Lay Speaking and who may want to lead the class in the future.
